Trudi Baker studied Art and design up to Degree level where she honored her creative skills. Here she studied many creative practices and mediums before realizing her passion lay in fashion illustration and textiles. Trudi continued her education to study Fashion Textiles Design in Nottingham from where she graduated with a first class honors degree and a love of creativity. Trudi continues to work within the fashion industry to this day and has worked for several notable brands and retailers.

After raising a family and whilst continuing to work, Trudi has found time to recapture her creative side and love of illustrations.

Trudi has always been inspired by the natural world surrounding her , in particular animal instincts and their behaviors and the surrounding fauna and flora. Through her skills as an artist, Trudi has been focusing on capturing the quirky and elegant characteristics of each animal in portrait or each floral element throughout the seasons. The whimsical and unpredictability of nature is flattered by her free flowing painting style. She has focused on building and developing characters and colours to convey paintings with dramatic effect

She has honed her skills working with multimedia, layering and manipulating surfaces to create tension, depth and feelings in her work. Each painting is set on a farrow and ball, Little green or pantone back colour, making the pieces easy fits into today’s interiors. After slowly layering the enamel elements, Trudi finalises each piece by encasing the canvas in resin. The overall effect is a glazed finish with new depths in every viewing.
